Sooooo....how many of you did I beat? First ride of the season, most epic ride...

So Im sure many of you have seen the Vid Jetski in trees. If not heres a refresher...

So ever since then its been on my bucket list. Picked up a 92SP last fall and after selling the trailer I was in the black $75 which covered the carb kit and some other stuff to get it up to snuff. Oh...and the crank was stuck but a little oil and some rocking and she busted loose.

I dreamed of my chance to do it and finally...the Hutch boys called me and said its time.

So I yanked the cover and dropped a battery in. Fired up. Grabbed the wetsuit and to my amazement...it still fit.

I was unprepared for what was to be the best time Jetsking I ever had...

Yup ICEBERGING!!!

Some spots were 2000' of ice chunks and to my amazement it was pretty easy to navigate thru it. The SP ran so good it was amazing up until the last bit of the way back; it would die if I let off the gas and would die when I jumped a 'berg. Oh and the Westcoast intake grate is no longer. Im sure the prop looks like crap but it was worth every penny.

Well, I went out Sat. 4-6-13, but weather was warm, mid 70's the water was still pretty cold.

No thanks!!!! Ill be out tomorrow, this is the first year I didn't go out in March. Gonna be 82 tomorrow. Was below freezing at night just a few days ago

Got you beat on the date, my first ride was 9 Mar. But you get the award for conditions, very cool video. Had no idea you could jump ice!

Took mine out again Sunday and hit about 57 on the speedo. All gauges working perfectly, ready for summer!

Man oh man that looks like a blast! In addition to your grate and impeller I bet you hull looks like crap too? I wonder if anyone has ever modded the hull on a ski to be able to do this? You know clad it with plate steel or something :thumbsup: :cheers:

we took 4 skis to havasu,right outta the gate we lost a key,melted an exhaust hose ,and popped a coolant line.
then it was perfect!
all the skis ran great!weather was in the 90's no wind
oh ya,the 92sp,was the odd choice for all the "guests",,guess nobody cared if they ruined it,haha.

To tell you the truth, I had some hits I thought for sure would have done damage. It took a little paint off the keel, but thats it. The old ones are SOLID!

We were talking about it too...I think one of those keel guards would be the ticket.

WOW that has to be the coolest thing I've heard of someone doing on a jet ski! Kudos for sticking it to the elements. Can't wait to see the videos at home, they're blocked at work We don't get ice like that here in NC...EVER. Now I kind-of wish we did. I took my old GTS out two weeks ago. I think it was mid 60's here, but I still put on a jacket and hat.

No old SP in the group? I was looking at one of those side-by-sides but my girls thought I was nuts. Wish I had it now for ripping though the salt flats in St Joe Bay. I did see this thing in Atlanta.
