Small amount of water in hull

Quick question. Do these ski take on a slight bit of water. The last 2 -3 times on the water and today it was in the water for about 2 hours there has been a little bit of water in the bottom of the hull. I dry the ski completely out every time I use it with a shop Vac. Its not much water but its enough to notice and suction up with a shop vac. I do all river riding so I am not submerging the ski or taking big waves over the front. I had the pump serviced 5 hours ago and am wondering if something is not tight in the rear end. Please let me know.

Thanks
Matt

should be ok, normally all of them will dump maybe a cup or 2 of water when done riding.

I stopped after an hour today and tied up for an hour at a friends house and there was about 1/2 gallon ish in the bottom when opened up the seat.

wow that seems excessive mine stays bone dry unless I take a wave or have people putting wet stuff in storage in front...

I'd love to hear the answer to how people dry their hull out completely.

I do a heap of work in the surf and have water over the bow all the time, generally have about 2l of water in the ski that won't come out the bungs because of the one way valve setup. I would far rather a bung to open hull and bilge pump setup over this venturi setup that SeaDoo seem to love.

With my old ski I would use a shop vac and then some compressed air if needed

It sounds like your carbon ring may not be sealing properly. You should check it out. Try tying it up at the dock in the water, run it in "neutral" with the seat open and the rubber flap over the carbon ring flipped up and look for water spraying in.

I'd suspect the seal as well or perhaps a loose connection on the other thru-hull fittings.

When I first bought my ski the seal was defiantly bad, I'd have 1/2 to a Full gallon after a 30 minute ride it was kicking in the bilge, immediately took it in for repair. The previous owner installed a bilge instead of fixing the leak.

I was out for 3 hours sunday, 15mph winds absolutely 100% bone dry.

I will have a look at the seal next time I ride. I installed a 1100GPH bilge over the weekend for piece of mind. The ski was in the water yesterday for 4 hours and I road about 66 miles round trip to lunch and there was the same amount of water there always is. As for drying it out I have been using a shop vac. At my next oil change I think I am going to have my dealer check all of the connections and switch to stainless steel hose clamps.

Check for a leaky Jpipe as well. IMO a bilge pump is one of the best upgrades you could have done to your ski.
