Should I add oil?

How can I make sure my oil pump is working? I filled it up and rode for a few hours but the oil level doesn't seem to drop. What can I check to ensure I'm protecting my motor? Would it hurt to add pre mix to my gas? If not what kind should I use? Does anyone else every worry about this?

cheers coors....mark the resivoir tank, ..sharpie pen..etc, then if worried, yah, throw in 4oz bottle of "PREMIX ONLY" oil to tank, least you know, thers some oil. Then after while, check the tank...

Prior you can manually turn the pump while idling and see if it burns more blue - I also ran a premix of 50-1 just to make sure
