I hope this inspires someone to create a molded plastic contraption-we could patent it and make hundreds!
Last season I bogged down with weeds on a cold morning. I managed to use this extendable pole and my brush attachment to free myself. I present to you, my de-weeder.
I took a paint roller with a screw on handle, some dowels and some cord. Drilled the large dowels to fit and tied down. The piece folds up and takes up little room. The extendable pole cost less than $20 and extends to ~ 6'. I will wrap the handle with a neoprene pipe insulation piece so that it floats.
The idea is that the "rake" end can catch the weeds while I reach from the swim platform. The dowels are large enough that they wont go through my grate.
We'll see how it works, but the lake is about 38° - if it saves me one time it was well worth it.
