My boat had been in storage for a couple of years. Sad I know. I pulled it out, cleaned it up and fired her up. she started first time !!

then she died. plugs fouled. I cleaned the plugs and then replaced them. checked all have a good spark. put in a new water seperating fuel filter. she would try and fire but seemed like no fuel.

My fuel baffle was sending the correct fuel level but I pulled the fuel line off and fired her up and no fuel from the tank.

Now I may be dumb but I was assuming the fuel baffle ( three wires - Pink, Pnk/Black and pink/blue ) where the sender and a fuel pump.

my misery continues as I decided to pull the baffle out and I snapped it.

Now I have bought and installed a new one and still no fuel from the tank.

Am I missing a fuse or is this a vacuum fed system and does it need priming.

I'm stuck and I can't find anything online to help me.

thx.

This has the fuel injected Mercury 240 hp engine. I think you may be right though since the baffle doesn't appear to have a pump in it despite the 3 wires to it.

thx.

I have run through all the fuel tests and have 36 psi pressure at the rail. seems like my fuel system is good.

I have spark and fuel pressure but still can't get engine to fire.

what am I missing ?

OK, I feel a little dumb but I think the fuel line just hadn't primed. I put the anti siphon tube in the gas can and it primed and I fired the engine straight up. I reconnected it to the fuel baffle / sender and it all looks to be good now.

Thanks for your help.
