Hi guys.

I'm new to the forum and to jet skis.
I'm picking up my first ski tomorrow, it's the 2000 rx millennium edition 2 stroke.

Now the guy is selling as he is fed up with it! He says all he has had is problems with it.

1. He had to change the ecu, something to do with loosing keys and only having a trainer key and the shop he used did not have the equipment to reprogram the key as the ecu was full of codes so he had to get another ecu and program that!

( to me this sounds really silly and an expensive way of sorting that problem. :/ )

2. The throttle cable stuck wide open throttłe so he had to get that changed over for a new throttle cable or throttle assembly.

3. Starter motor packed in while out at sea and the ski cut out or something and he couldn't start it back up to get to shore.

To me theese problems just sound like little hick ups! It's not something that would put me off buying.

Now he's had all these problems fixed but he is sick of the ski and he keeps worrying about what's going to go wrong next.

So with this being my first ski could you guys tell me the common faults if any?
Also how to I maintain and look after the ski?

And lastly the only thing that dosnt see to work at the moment is the speedo , what could be the cause of this?

Big thanks Fosta :)

Well..... DI skis are great skis when they are running. If they have issues they can make the most seasoned mechanic pull his hair out. They are a nightmare to diagnose, parts and labor are outrageous and 99% of mechanics these days will not even touch them.

Personally I steer clear of them. I know the ins and outs on carb skis but di's are a different animal. A lot of people have them and love them. If they are running right with no issues they are amazing skis. Let's hope all the bugs have been worked out and you have a gem

Electronics. Skip this ski. Find a carb engine one.

$600 for a fuel pump on a $2k ski... Not worth it.

Your money, but I 2nd the skip this one. You don't want to buy a project.

I have one, but had I known what I know now, I would have gotten something else for sure.....and btw I am currently having issues with mine as we speak...lol
