Just changed the oil on a 2005 GTX 4TEC 155 Wake. It started up fine before the oil change as I warmed it up a bit to get most of the oil out. Got the oil refilled now and filter changed. Now when I go to start it, it cranks once then beeps once and shuts off and "restarts" (like on the speedometer it acts like you had just put the key on). Im gonna try and take a video incase anyone wants to see what it does.

One thing I know that happened was the hose was left running with the engine not turned on. Only for a few seconds. Could this have done it? I assume that since the oil was chanegd it should be good now?

Any ideas???

Remove the spark plugs. Do NOT stand over the plug holes. Crank the engine and let the water that flooded into the cylinders out...

It goes, Engine on, water on, water off, engine off...

Any other combination allows water into the cylinders,,,

You were right water was in there. FML. Do I need to change the oil again???

Thanks for the quick reply by the way your help is greatly appreciated.

If the oil isn't milky, it doesn't need to be replaced. BUT, you absolutely need to get the motor running and heated up to get all the moisture out ASAP or bad things happen to the internals of the motor.

Got it started. Oil is definitely milky. What kind of coolant do these things take? I noticed mine was getting low. Regular car coolant wouldn't do the trick would it?

Unsure about the coolant. Get the oil changed ASAP (like right now) and get the motor running again. With the water in the oil, it will tear your bearings up. You need to get the motor running and heated up to dry everything out. You may need to change the oil again after you get it dried out to ensure there is no water in it.

Okay gonna change the oil now. When I get that done should I take it for a spin or just run it off the hose (the proper way this time). Then chane it again?

I was planning to take it out on the water for an hour or two them chcnage it again tomorrow. Hope I hear back from someone. And thanks for the help.

Got the oil changed now and it still looks cloudy but not as bad as before. Change it again or let it run for a bit?

You may have to change the oil twice, depends on how much water was "forced" into the crankcase.
The manual does not give a specific antifreeze. It only states to use a 50/50 mix unless in a very hot area. If so, go with a 40/60 mix (antifreeze/water) for more efficient cooling. It does state not to MIX types. But again,,, does not state what type was originally in the closed loop system.

You can run it on the hose, but I am not sure if your drive shaft has a carbon ring. If it does, you need to pull it back so it doesn't ruin it. Best bet is to dunk it in the lake and ride it.
