Seadoo LRV performance info???

I purchased an LRV this past spring primarily because of its' size and storage capabilities. I wanted something that could hold a whole days worth of food, beverage and supplies for day trips from my house to a few nearby beaches. So far, I am thrilled with it. A ridiculous amount of space, and extremely stable, even through the largest of chop. However, I am a little disappointed in its power/performance. It has a painfully slow hole shot, has a tendency to cavitate when gunned, and max's out at about 40 mph. Does anyone know of any performance enhancements I could do that does not involve major motor work? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, B

PS. Sorry about posting this in the "General Discussion" area. I have tried to move this to the performance section, but I can't figure out how to do it. Sorry.

delivering one tomorrow. Did wear ring, along with overhaul'n carbs, raves..etc, and somewhat stoked on it, considering the weight of the beast.

An LRV will probably always show a little cavitation unless the pump, impeller, and carbon seal are perfect.

BUT... I would think that it should be getting closer to 50 mph. Even my single engine sportster can get into 40's. (bigger, and less HP)

I would have thought I should be able to get closer to 50 as well. I had a bunch of routine work done to it (air pump on motor, repaired exhaust, new manifold, etc.) and was given the impression from my mechanic that it was back to "running like new" condition. Having no other LRV to compare it to, so I am just not sure. I'm not looking to go ludacrisly fast, but 50ish would be nice at times.
