seadoo gtx 2003 sc, getting beeps without codes

Hello seadoo owners...

I have the following problem...

When starting my seadoo 2003 GTC sc 185 bhp the pwc works out fine, no problems occur....After 5 minutes or more and hitting 60 mph with perfect accelleration I can hear a loud long beep (2sec's). when slowing down a bit I don't receive a beep, then hitting top speed again -->one long beep.
Then after 15 minutes I can hear the long (2sec's) beep more frequently about every minute or sometimes every 30 sec's. Again acceleration is perfect end top speed not a problem. It's getting anoying the beeping.

Then after 40 minutes or so my display goes out for only one second and is then back on....

Then next problem when accelerating to topspeed it seems that the fuel to the engine is cut of for 0,5 sec or so...after this very short period full power again...This only happens 3 times in one hour...

Again I receive no codes for what so ever, no led in the corner of the displays lit up, no notting (e.g. check engine, maint, sensor)...There is no alarm mentioned on the display.

Summary: I only hear long 2 sec beeps every no and then, no codes or faults mentioned on the display...

Any ideas? I am getting a bit crazy over here....Any suggestions are more then welcome as for the OEM Seadoo dealer doesn't knows SHIT...

Please Help ..

nald,

From what I am reading in my service manual (for 06 gtx seadoo) the beeps could be a result from
- High engine coolant temp
- High exhaust temp
- Low engine oil pressure

Other than that your ECM might be malfunctioning, I am not positive that is what your beeps are coming from but it is just a suggestion and possibly give you a place to start looking. Hope something here helps you.

Press the "SET" button 5 times the next time you hear the beeping. The gauge should display a code (P-????). Sounds to me like you're exhaust might be overheating and putting the ski into limp mode momentarily.

Hello,

When I am riding the ski I have never been into limp mode. Full power and acceleration is always available. I will test the 5x set idea and look if I receive a P-... code.

For the other idea's:
- High engine coolant temp
- High exhaust temp
- Low engine oil pressure
These faults should be presented by showing Check engine, or sensor or maint mode in display.

The ECM does not show corrosion on the connectors.

I also don't know why my display was just a second off-line and then back on..

Please feel free to suggest any more idea's...

Again acceleration and topspeed are always present even with the beeps...

Also if limp mode was applicable I also should hear a long continues beep and no topspeed/acceleration anymore, so I think limp mode is not applicable...

Help

Could limp mode also be a one second hold-back and then 100% power again, because that is what I noticed two times an hour....
Or is limp mode always on and never off when the ski is being in limp mode?

Thanks...suggestions?

sounds like high exhaust temp sensor is going off, a common problem with the 4tecs. you should check to make sure your getting good water flow through your exhaust but usually the sensor needs replaced, simple fix.
