Hi All,

I just join this forum, and this is my first time to look at owning a jet boat. I look at the 2000 Sea Doo Challenger, it has a twin rotax 85hp engines. We start the engines on the driveway and it put out a lot of white smokes. The owner said that because he just de-wintererize and have not run it in the water that is why it smoke, it should stop smoke after while. The boat license and trailer expires so we could not go to the lake to test drive it. My question is that true the engine will put out white smokes for awhile after first run after de-winterized? thanks for the asnwer, I am new to this and have no experience any help would appreciated, thanks.

Smoke during a start from a long term storage is okay. It might be fogging oil that burns off during start. The fogging oil is a lightweight grade oil which burns white rather than black or blue like the injection oil does.

It should go away after a while.
