Hi guys,
first of all I'm a newbie so don't be too rude on me if something goes terribly wrong on this post!
I tryed to search for a similar problem through the forums but couldn't find one very exact to mine...
So to the problem, I'm having issues with my GTI LE -02 717 rotax.
It starts perfectly on trailer, revs up normally, nothing wrong. When we measured the charging system, I noticed that it doesn't charge.
I reconnected the regulator and measured the stator. Stator produces only 2.5volt AC at idle. The Strange thing is, that the resistance seems to be fine. 0.7ohm between yellow wires. Is it possible that the magnets are dead inside the flywheel (or completely missing??) or a short to ground somewhere?
I assume the stator should be fine, while the resistance is ok?
There was alot of rust on the flywheel and the chassis of it, because there had been salt water on somepoint of previous owners inside there.. (rings bells to an electricity problem
)
I have already replaced new spark plugs (BR8ES), a new start (old was just bad and very rusty because of the salt water inside) and a new AGM battery.
Theres an photo attached also to see the condition of the flywheel assembly.
I'm not sure is this connected to the electricity problem, but also it is very hard to get running in water. On trailer it starts up perfect but when I get it into the water it kind of bogs down and dies.
I've got new gas, 2t oil straight in the tank, no system working for that anymore.. Top end has been rebuild with the lower block.
Any suggestions guys? I would be pleased from any help.
