Hey guys, what is everyones thoughts of SBT? Who has purchased a rebuilt engine with a warranty and how were the results??? How was the service, and quality of the rebuilt engine?
Horror stories, accolades, and pictures welcome.

I am mechanically capable of rebuilding my engine, but lack the experience. Unfortunately, this lack of experience means time and money with emphasis on money.

I look forward to hearing the results.

Engine swap and SBT...?

I use SBT. They have the best warranty on their product from all others.

This is a trick question in a way. SBT advertises the prices they do, expecting you have a rebuildable core. If your core block is cracked or not rebuildable, they charge you the difference. There are a lot of people that think they got the shaft because of this.

The other problems I've heard about are the reliablilty of their engines. I personally have had no problems. I can't say any exist. Some have complained that their engine blew up and that SBT did not honor the warranty. Well, here is the tricky part. If you buy from them, they have guidelines that need to be followed to protect the engine (like running the correct amount of break-in oil). If they determine that the engine blew from neglect of the installer, then there is also money that may not be able to be retrieved.

I read your thread about your engine and the problems you worked on. I also answered it. If this is the enigne you are thinking about replacing, this will not solve your problem, since you only get the block from them. You stated in that thread that your compression was 150 and 160. That means, the block, crank and pistons are probably o.k......

Go back to your other thread and see what I had to say. You might find a solution to your problem after all............
