Sand in water jacket

Lots of sand in water jacket.. causing overheating!
How do I prevent that? What is causing that?

Running the boat in shallow water. Do you beach the boat? I watched a guy drive his yammy up to the beach, tap the gas, put it in "netural" then cut it off and get off the ski into a cloud of dirt and he no doubt sucked a ton in there, absolutely the wrong way to do it. Shallow water is really the only way it gets in there.
 
You should be flushing the engines and that will help.

Your engine was damaged by running lean and probably not from that little bit of sand or overheating.
