Rubber Hose off Throttle body?

07 C180 (215hp). There is a clear rubber hose coming from the top of my Throttle body with a very small ID on the other end. It looks like the prior owner had tried to plug/cap it with electrical tape... where is t supposed to go??
 
a picture of where your hose attaches to the throttle body would be helpful, I suspect it is the lubrication hose for the throttle body, it is usually a black hose with a yellow cap on the end, usually attaches to the plastic engine cover that covers your ignition coils and ecm.
 
yep, that is what it is, it is for lubricating your throttle body, the end of it should be capped really, isn't really going to cause an issue if it isn't though but it is sucking air into the intake through that hose that isn't filtered so it is best if it is capped.
