Hi!

Have a islandia year model 2001, with 250 dfi Engine. The rpm meter is working.
I have checked the cables on backside Of the meter, and its looks okey.

Where do I start to have a look? Where is the sender unit? How should the signal be at gauge?

Does anyone knows ehere or what cables sends the rpm signal to the gauge? the 240hp mercury engine is replaced with the 250hp optimax....ay problem in the conversion?

Unfortunately... the 250 DFI engine is a "Smartcraft" engine... and the 240 was a conventional engine. You may need a new tach to make it work.

Since the engine is a conversion... it's hard to say what it will need, since I don't know how it got patch into the boat's electrical. But, if you call Mercury, they can tell you what gauge and harness you will need to hook into the smartcraft computer.
