I have a FORTH OWNER 95 GTX. I removed oil pump and made my own block-off plate and in the process (not thinking) removed the rotary valve. well I followed the reinstall proceeded in the manual but I (not thinking) didn't look at the degree chart and didn't realize it until it was back together. I said frack it lets try it. As soon as it started (with no problem) the motor revved up high but I killed it before it got to high readjusted idle and it runs better than it ever had. Will it hurt it running it in this configuration.

If your rotary valve timing is off, it's not going to run, or if it does it might backfire through the carbs. If it sprays gas out the throats of the carb chances are the timing is off. I suggest you save yourself a lot of trouble and check the rotary valve timing and do it right the first time, before you launch your doo. You could develop more problems if your luck is bad and it isn't on the correct degree's it should be at. If you rotary valve is off 1 tooth the degree is changed on intake and exhaust.

That's the funny part it use to spit gas threw the carbs now its not so maybe I got it right. It might not be the original engine I wish I would have payed better Attention to which rotary valve was installed.

You might be a lucky person...fire it up and go have fun...I would think about the lottery numbers too, you never know...:)
