REVERSE/NEUTRAL/FORWARD Cable Replace: 2001 Challenger 15

After getting a new steering cable installed, we now found the Reverse cable broken off just below shifter, also seized from back as we could not manually move gates up to forward position.

Ordered a new cable, meanwhile we attempted for hours to back off nut on motor side of transom, impossible! Also attempted to loosen the black plastic ribbed fitting on the water side, so we basically chipped away at the plastic, and removed rubber grommet, and pushed cable into motor side.

Received a new cable today, but it does not appear to have any parts other than the cable, are parts needed to affix to transom available separately?

Does anyone have a schematic of the reverse cable parts, install
diagram etc?

Since my boat is powered by a Mercury motor, I was able to find most of the other parts through MercruiserParts.com. If you search the forum you can also find the parts diagram and manuals as well specific to your boat.
