Remove and check Rave Valves on 2004 3d

I wanted to check the rave valves on my 787 3d. i can get one out but the other the exhaust is preventing me from pulling it all the way out. do i have to pull the exhuast as well to get the one rave valve out?

Unscrew guillotine from piston

Undo the guillotine from the valve.
