When they tell you your reeds need replaced are they talking about just the rubber flaps or the whole reed valve assembly? And is that the cause for the jet ski to bog down and shut down at half throttle?

The reed pedals normally wear and then break off. The whole assemly is usually replaced; a broken reed will cause the engine to run poorly.

so the reed valve assembly could be my only problem or is there someplace else i should check first?

that dosent sound like reeds to me.... that more sounds like fuel delivery problem ....do you still have the grey fuel lines on your ski....can you give us some history of things you have done to it

If they're broken yes, it could be your problem since there will not be proper back pressure. Replace them both. Also, check your compression and replace any grey fuel lines if you have any.

Edit: I didn't see it said it shut down. Yes, sounds like a fuel problem. But, if you know the reeds are broken replace them, so they won't cause further issue.

lol ive only had for about 2 weeks...this is the first jet ski ive ever owned so i dont know much about them.

reeds will make it run rough all the time not shut down at half throttle..... BUT.....if they are broken then replce them but if someone just told you thats (probubly whats wrong) then its most likely not the reeds
