I started cleaning the rave valves on my 02 GTX carb. for the first time today. I took the one closest to the bow off and cleaned it and put it back on. Took the cap off of the other and there wasn't a spring there... Should there be???

BTW Thank you all with help on cleaning the carbs. I was able to get my ski in the water for a few hrs. Sun. and she was running good.

Any thing I need to do, check, clean??? Besides get a new one.. :-P There is no telling how long it has been missing. I had a 3yr service plan with the dealership I bought it from so this is the first time I am having to work on it.

I took the entire valve out including the rubber o rings, cleaned everything with detergent and water. The valve its self I used carb cleaner and a wire cleaning wheel to clean them (new) shinny clean. One of mine had the o ring in the wrong spot, it apparently was serviced and not put back together the correct way. I had oil leaking from around the rave, they were so dirty that one was sticking and running real sloppy at slow speeds. Now that they are clean it runs great and no oil leaking. Only takes about 1 hour with the correct tools. good luck
