I just had a 2010 jeep wrangler come in that caught on fire becasue the gas line got brittle and broke.....just sayin:coolgleam:

i'm positive that the fuel lines on my 94 lexus and my wife's 98 are the original, never occurred to me to even consider thiis.

shocked us too.....we couldnt believe it but they were extremely coroded and brittle....

Ethanol is horrible on older car fuel line. It was not made to have alcohol reside in it 24-7 new line is more resistant. Had a few problems with my old Toyota truck line turning hard and cracking from this new wonderful fuel the government makes us use.

That's what makes seadoo a part of all of us who work on them. We become one with the machines maintaining them. But when they run correct not too much is better.

Yes, but not everyone likes working on their ski's like we do or are mechanically inclined enough to do their own maintenance.

I have never heard of someone having to replace the fuel lines on their cars, living in Florida, I doubt you would have this problem.

Edit: Sorry, this was the FIRST time ive ever heard of someone having to replace their fuel lines

Yeah I understand that it uses less oil and is more efficient, but you are gunna pick up "dirt or whatever" with or without premixing your gass. The oil in the gas tank isn't like a magnet for picking up dirt and sucking it into your carbs. Alot of general users wouldnt ever think to have to replace oil lines, because why should they ever fail? And in all honestly, i dont know why they should fail. Does anyone ever have to replace oil or gas lines on their car because they are broken or deteriorating? No. So to the casual PWC user, why should you ever have to replace them in a Seadoo?

I've had a fuel line on one my cars split on me while I was standing there talking to a neighbor. Car was just sitting and all of the sudden a strong fuel smell. At first I thought a gas can or something had gotten knocked over or something until the gas started running out from underneath my car. I glad that didn't happen while I was driving.

Exactly, just ask anyone that lives in the rust belt if fuel/oil/brake lines ever have to be replaced

in illinois theres nothing but rust under the cars, fuel lines, brake lines, floor pans

Drake1, The oil light comes on before it runs out of oil. The light lets you know that your oil is low, not empty. I don't think you ran the engine without oil. Just my 2 cents

The line that came off was on the top of the tank, there is a tee on it one line goes to a vent and the other line goes under the engine somewhere. The one that goes to engine is the one that popped off. I think it is some type of return line and it drained the tank.
