Really enjoying the 1998 Speedster I just bought, but no radio is installed. I opened the clamshell "hood" on the passenger side and there is a plug there. Wondering if this is pre-wiring for the radio?

Thanks

Anyone know the answer to this? White plug (10 or so pins) on the passenger side storage under the cooler tray. Anyone????

Hi
Yes it is the wiring harness for the Radio
Mine had a Clarion Marine fitted as std
it broke and I bought another (diffrent Brand )
WARNING though the new radio may have the same plug design
and the one i got did the pin wiring is diffrent so
unless you want to pay top dollar and buy radio from Dealer
buy what you want and use the plug on the new radio and connect direct to the loom the colors are usually std
ie Red +volt
Black -volt
Yellow perm +volt (holds the memory)
speakers are in pairs usually a colour ie grey and a grey with a color stripe etc
there will be a wire diagram with new radio

Already have a sony head unit I was planning on installing, so now I just have to get speakers? Where do the speaker wires end up?

I am assuming all I need to do is plug in radio and hook up speakers at the end of the wires?

Anyone have a wire diagram? How about some help in factory speaker location?

part way down each side Just in front of the rear bench seat
and above the cup /beer can holders
if get time in the morning i'll measure up and repost

Helping out?......

That is what I'm aksing! Where do the speaker wires end up?

After reading your post, I'm wondering if your helping out any. These members are giving you pointers but instead of going back and looking or trying to find the answer for yourself, it seems like your just making a reply, with the demand for someone to answer "exactly" where something goes. This boat did not come stock with a stereo system installed. It was special ordered. Try and help the members by trying to help yourself too.........

Please use the advise wisely and don't be demanding. They ARE trying to help...........

Fixed!........

No up-dates since 9-24-08, so I'll assume you got a fix on your speakers. I'll mark this post closed and hope all came out to a satisfactory conclusion for you..............
