Is there any way to cross reference the part numbers? Im going to buy a new 240 efi sportjet power head. Mine is a 2000 model and i found a new quicksilver one with part # 884-858257T24 there is a sticker on the motor thats says 2000-2001 240 efi jet so i am assuming its right but want to make sure before i order it. My serial number on my motor is 0E377115. I just dont want to order the wrong powerhead. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Quicksilver is Mercury. It's just the "Aftermarket" versions. But the numbers should sill be the same.

If you have a question on the engine number... call Mercury direct. They are very helpful, and will give you the right number.

But you are right. An "Out board" power head will look identical, and is basically the same engine... but the splines are different in the crank.

Thanks dr will give them a call. In the mean time i emailed th ecompany that has it to see if they would give me a spline count.
