what shoud i do when switching to with just gas already in the lines? will it be ok to start it up til it runs all the gas through?

Also Pouring the oil in first and filling up (correct measurments of course) is ok?

sorry for all the stupid questions guys, hoping to be on the lake tomorrow.... 1 more question

I've been running the XPS synthetic oil, but since I am switching to premix do I have to stick with that? Or can I get a cheaper brand? I'll keep the XPS in the tank and if I decide to go back to oil injection then I will continue to run that but curious if I should be premixing with it as well... someone said that penzoil was the cheapest synthetic to premix with... please help thanks

I think I would run with both oiler and premix until the premix is to the motor. Straight gas is always bad and that's a lot of straight gas to run though, gas lines, carbs, etc. If That's is not possible, than I would drain the carbs, lines, etc before I started it.
You maybe able to get by with a small squirt bottle full of XPS and pour a small amount of it in the carbs as it's running until you know your premix is worked in.
I would also stay with the XPS. If it's what you'll been using. Oil is not the place to cut cost or experment with IMO. Beside I'll bet if you do the math your'll see your not saving that much with the Penzoil anyway.

I run premix in both my ski's. I like to premix the gas in a gas can first, so I can give it a good shake. But I woudn't see any problems with pouring in the correct measure in the ski followed by gas. I woud give the ski a good shake once It was in the water before I started it though.

leave the oil in the tank. You need it to lube the RV cavity. As for gas in lines, if that worried, then pull the gas line at bottom inlet of carb, and drain, along with undoing the inline filter. Then let motor, re-prime the system.

As for oil for premixing, make sure its a "premix only" oil, and with the API-TC somewhere on bottle. Found cheap sh** at gas stations, when I had premixed boats...didnt care, as long as its premix oil.

great thanks guys, so is the XP-S a "premix gas"... I couldn't find ANY oil at walmart except for outboard :confused:

I found a Marina that we will start to go to more often that has XPS for 40 and Quicksilver for 35, so if the XPS is premixable then I will stick with that
