Hi Everyone,
I have had to put my 03 GTX supercharged 185 HP Sea Doo in for an engine rebuild (I sucked up an indoor/outdoor rug and blew a piston, and the supercharger).
In having this in for this costly repair - I had a full estimate on what was needed to be done.
Once the engine was rebuilt and installed, they found " It would appear a mouse built a nest behind the gauge cluster and chewed several of the wires. The watercraft has no DESS recognition and our laptop is only able to communicate with 1 of the 3 ECU onboard. The wires seem to be ok despite slight chewing and the issues are likely with the more costly electric module components. ".
I am now told I may need 2 of these computer boards - at a cost of about $1200 each! I have never had any electrical issues in the past whatsoever .... does anyone have any comments on what they have said above? Sound reasonable, or think I am getting ripped off?
My thoughts are if this was not broken before .... that it is something the dealer has broken in my engine repair, and thus they should pay for it.
Any comments and suggestions welcomed.
Deuce
