Questions about removing the choke cable from carb (94 SPi). How do I?

I'm taking the carb off my 94 SPi and I am down two just the choke cable and the Oil Pump cable. On the choke cable I don't see how to take it off, its just a rod on the end of the cable sticking through a brass nut looking thing.. but I don't see what I am supposed to do take it off.

Also, if I take off the throttle lever is it easy to put back on? I'm just afraid of the spring unraveling or something. I see the nut holding it on and I want to take it off.

Many of the coke cable rods are locked by a small allen-head set screw, at least that's how it's done on most of the production 951's

When handling, try not to kink the inner stainless steel cables if possible, take your time and look closely with good lighting, you should be able to see how they're disassembled.

Also, ask Q's, that's the entire purpose of the forum.

I don't think removing the throttle lever from the carb is a good idea, there should be a slot in the lever next to the molded barrel on the cable end that when rotated to the correct position, the stainless cable and barrel will release from.

I'm dumb I guess, baffled still. I don't see any set screw, there is a hole on the end that I would expect to see a screw in but there isn't and I can see the pin through it...

I dunno, but I'll take a picture of it later when I get home.

looking down into the hull with the carb in front of you, rear to the left, front to the right. With the air box off and the flame arrester off your choke will be on the right side of the carb just above the throttle cable. you will need a 2-3?? mm allen wrench, you will not see the set screw but insert the allen wrench into the right side of the brass nut looking thing. Hold the choke rod and the brass nut looking thing as you loosen the set screw and out comes you choke rod. DON'T DROP THE ALLEN WRENCH!!

For the throttle cable, I open the throttle up at the carb with my fingers and give the cable as much slack as you can. You may have to close the throttle at the handle bars after you do that. Take the cable out of the cam guide and carefully without kinking the cable rotate the cable stop (the gray/silver looking eraser thing at the end on the cable) up to the top. There is a slot where the cable stop will slide out to the right of the cam guide. This is how I remove the throttle cable, Sorry no pics I just dropped my ski back in the water today.

You can access all that stuff very easily by removing the RV cover with the carbs and cables attached, on that machine it is very easy to remove with the intake off. 4 bolts with 13mm heads, it is easier to work with the carb that way anyways, but just the choke cable is a set screw, 2mm sideways pointing towards the center of the boat. It is inside the housing the rod goes through, a hex shape piece itself.
