Questions about carbon ring

I thought you werent supposed to remove anything, as it voids the warranty!

What happened was, when he painted the RV he did not cover the injection nipples so the holes were filled with paint. I was pissed, told him I wanted to take it off to clean and test properly, he was ok with it. He was under the impression that he convinced me to go to premix so the painted nipples weren't an issue.
Also gave me a good chance to inspect the crank.

Well Tom at SES says he will have engine shipped back by the end of this week. So now I have this question..being that the RV gear failed and was in pieces and the two engines are connected to the same oil tank is it possible that pieces of the gear made it back to the tank and into the other engines RV gear area?should I flush the oil lines and the RV area of the other engine?

If it hasn't been done ever, it probably wouldn't hurt to clean out the oil tanks while you have some time. Drain out the old oil. The clean out the tank and lines real good. Paint thinner cleans out the tanks amazingly. Then if the oil looks good and you know what kind it is and there is no gelling or anything like that go ahead and you can run it, or use it in the weedeaters and put fresh oil in it!
