OK I have a question here. I Purchased a motor from SBT last year in July, I just went out to get the boat ready for the season and I noticed that there was oil backing up through the carburetors on the motor that I got from SBT. I know this is not normal but am I correct to think that the internal seals are bad on it?

Typical two-stroke oil. So you’re saying that this new motor that I have already has bad internal seals on the crank? I knew I should have never went with SBT

It could also be the check valves in the injectors but typically a crank seal.

You are also using the wrong oil and it has been known to cause the inner seals to leak.

Tcw-3 is wrong it needs to be API-TC rated. The tcw-3 can't handle the heat because outboards opperate at a much cooler temp

Stole this from another thread. Sea-Doo XPS oil(expensive at the dealer but can get good deals online) and there are a few others. There is a amsoil, a mystic, and a elusive quick silver one. All of those companies make outboard oil too so you have to make sure it's the full synthetic API-tc version. Idk what they were thinking when they told you that. No Sea-Doo ever has ever specd tcw-3

If you have a 720 API-TC mineral oil is fine as the 787 and 951 are the only ones that require the full synthetic. Either way as said above never ever use TCW-3 or even dual rated oil in a SeaDoo. If there is a TCW-3 anywhere on the bottle it’s wrong.

Ok, so what is a good oil to use for the 720 then?can I use the xps oil in the white jug?D226C0F0-7E86-47FE-A3E9-3373EE0E4A11.png

720 and below takes the white bottle, mineral. 787 and 951 takes the yellow bottle, XPS2 Synthetic.

Your seadoo dealer should have said "Here you go sir, this is the oil you need", and you should have walked out with the right stuff.

To keep it simple I would just run the yellow bottle in both skis. THat is what I do with my 720, 787 & 951's.

OK I just got back from my Sea-Doo dealership and they no longer carry the yellow bottle so this is what he said is taking its place. Is he correct?

Also, I just rebuilt these carburetors last season, with all this oil in them could I just flush them out or am I going to have to rebuild these again?

It appears that oil is what seadoo now sells.
As for the carbs I would pull them apart. With it that full of oil is is possible it got inside, especially the fuel pump through the pulse line.
You will also have to replace the oil filter, bleed the oil pump and flush the tank as you can't mix the two different oils.

I use a hand pump like thus to hook to the line at the top of the tank and flush the rotary cavity.037049945214lg.jpg
It might be excessive but I do it as spring mantaince to keep clean oil in there with the gears and seals
