Question...Does anybody have a jet boat that actually runs?

Has anybody ever had good luck with an older Seadoo sport boat? With all the horror stories out there, its a wonder there is a secondary market at all for a used jet boat. I just took the plunge and wonder if it was a mistake. LOTS of good reading on this site, though. Affirms the old adage that there is always somebody worse off than you!

There have to be some that run. You have to also think that you are looking at a forum where people go to get help about fixing things, not really a forum where people go to brag about how everything is working great.

LOL, yeah I hear you. FWIW my boat runs great, but I have had to do some work on it. Nothing major. For me, half the fun is wrenching.

Yep, Old Seadoo jet boat is fun for guys with wrenches. Not for people who just want to use it.

Yep, love my speedster. Couldn't imagine not having it. I've owned mine new since 99.

Like any other sophisticated piece of machinery, it takes some maintenance. Just had mine out this morning while the water was calm. Headed back out later today to meet some friends. Had mine since 2010, and while I've had to put some work into it, it has generally run pretty darn good for a 20 year old jet boat.

I picked up a 97 speedster last fall (one engine ran OK), and I LOVE working on it. It's just a fun hobby that keeps me busy when I'm bored. Can't wait to get it on the water though.

Edit: I should also mention that if it weren't for the helpful people on this forum I would have no idea what I'm doing haha :)
