Question about value...what are these skis worth?

I'm looking at a pair of 1998 SeaDoo GTX Limited PWCs...on a custom trailer.
Seller is asking $7,000 for all.
Engines replaced (short blocks) 2 years ago.
Carbs rebuilt this year.
He has owned them for 5 years...and says they are in perfect running condition. I know he lives on a saltwater bay, and I'll be using them primarily in salt/brackish water.

What are these things REALLY worth if they are in the condition described?
I'm considering trading him for my Harley...which is worth a little over $6,000 in this market.

I wouldn't pay more than $5k for the combo. Just becasue the engines were replaced 2 years ago, doesn't mean anything. Since they are used in salt water... they can have damage.

OK... a $6K trade may be worth it, since it may be hard to sell your bike anyway.

I would still take them for a real water test, and I would make sure the compression is where it needs to be (around 150 psi) and I would ask what kind of oil he is using.

Okay thanks for the reply. Just from the pics...they do look to be VERY well kept. I will obviously look for corrosion and signs of abuse.

Are there any typical areas that are prone to show signs of abuse?
What should I keep an eye out for?
