PWC Insurance - questions and observations...

Glad I saw this thread and checked them out. Progressive for me was $100/year on my 2008 GTX-215 Limited! That's with a $1000 deductible (same as with my cars and boat). I'm 63 so that helped, too. BoatUS wanted $300/year for less coverage! I'm going to call my State Farm agent tomorrow and see if I can get a boat rider deal that someone mentioned above.

Progressive.. $240yr covers ski & trailer, stolen, sunken, medical, towing, etc..everything except mechanical
I also lower coverage or just theft in the off season, so it gets a little cheaper. I also insure 2 vehicles with them.
I think I may look into SkiSafe for the mechanical coverage. If it's not a huge addition it could be very worthy in a high dollar situation..

Well, I got the Progressive policy as it was by far the most reasonable at any given level of coverage. They also have a "propulsion coverage" option which does cover mechanical failure (like an extended warranty for the engine and drivetrain) which was only about $50 a year but I figured with only 5 hours on my boat, I shouldn't need it.

Just purchased a 2006 GTI in September 2014. Progressive for mine for $250 deductible was $130 a year for complete coverage. Of course I am a senior citizen maybe that helps. First ever jet ski, but snowmobiles for years and years.

Ah, yes, I should add I'm over 60 too - we should start a group: The Silver Sea-Doos!!!

Yes I was told by a "friend" who is about the same age.... Jet Ski's are dangerous and really tippy!. He hates PWC with a passion. I must admit I have been cut off a few times when boating by PWC Drivers who turned right in front of me. BUT its the DRIVER not the water craft that needs educated.

I found it just as much fun, maybe more so than snowmobiling. Can't wait until next year to get some more time on the water!!
