Purchasing a used Sea doo - What questions to ask

I am considering purchasing a Sea doo. I am current looking at 2002 GTX 4TEC pair. I have my standard questions about length of ownership, maintenance/repairs, current mechanical condition and condition of hulls.

Is there a list of questions about buying a used Sea doo? P-codes check? Things to look for on start up? After warm up? Lake trial things to look for?


I have been boating for over 20 years maintaining various V-6 2-strokes. However, I have an outboard mechanic friend that recently told me...a PWC is not a boat and many things are totally different than "your mind set". I know the 4TECs are 4-stroke closed loop cooling. I have only heard good things about the 4TECs.

Can anyone help me get into the PWC "mind set" for tips on buying a used ski? I did look for stickies before posting...I didn't see anything.
