I tore my pump down to do the job weld trick. I went ahead and pulled the prop to get a better look. Is this bad enough to have impros work on it? I'm not liking the cavatation burns.

seems surprising to see a wear ring pitted like that, but with no real circular wear lines from sand, rocks etc.

That one healthy dinger in the leading edge would be worth grinding off in at least if you are not sending it off.

Its only got the one circular wear line and its deeper than the pics make it look. I have no clue what the pitting is from. I got the boat this way. Ill prob just go ahead and have the prop worked on. I was just trying to find out if its worth it. I have read several post where guys say it made a huge difference but usually there prop looks horrible compared to mine.

So you guys think the holes cavatation burns are OK? There about 1/16 maybe 1/8 deep?

And yes buckeye it's possible it was saltwater I was told otherwise by seller but you know how that goes.

As above... doesn't seem that bad.

I would file the impeller edges clean. (not sharp) And unless you had bad cavitation, I wouldn't worry about the ring yet. Even if you do... you can coat it with JB weld, and sand it smooth. I know it seems like a cheesy fix method... but a lot of guys have had luck with it. AND... it's much cheaper than sending it out, or buying a new one.

I can live with the leading edges being rough, but to me it looks like there are cracks where the blades meet the hub, I would be more concerned about those areas.

I don't see any cracks... but I'm on a small screen. If there are root/hub cracks... they need welded up.

There arent any cracks but there are holes/pits . I think your seeing the holes/pits im talking about. It looks like cavatation burns. I guess i need to try and get a better pic. There is one where the blade meets the hub on all three.

Maybe this pic will help. Circled in red is the hole/ pitting in question. All 3 blades have this where they meet the hub.

El toro it is a hole all blades have it in the same spot. Looks like a bad cavitation burn maybe? 1/16 maybe an 1/8 at the most deep
