So, I bought a 2000 GTX, in fair shape, to fix and sell.

I just don't have the time. All the parts are there.

needs a head gasket + exhaust manifold gasket + oil lines.

I'd suggest replacing the fuel lines. Also needs carbs - I might be able to get good used ones for $200.

$900 takes everything.

Magneto is in good shape, info center lit up when tested.

I'll throw in the correct battery.

needs an engine mount - I might have one you can take. Hulls in descent shape. needs some purple wash and pressure washed. Hydro Turf seat cover.

Delaware expired registration. have card.

I planned to fix it up, I'm about $50 in parts away from that, but I've just recently lost time and intrest. Running I expect this to fetch $1500-2k.

No trailer... all parts are in zip locks. I suggest you know what you're doing before buying, I will not be providing support to rebuild.

It's on a dolly, so bring a trailer. If anyone in the area has a single trailer, and wants a red 951 carb GTX, RUNNING, let me know, if I have a geniunily intrested party, I may find time to rebuild it... should take less than a week...

Don't know... just lately have no motivation for the project. I bought it a week ago and have the old engine out. Appears the old one failed from the paper 951 exhaust gasket, ingested water, then it sat for years and rusted out the engine. The cases look fine, so I'm keeping those. YOU get an engine that just needs the head put back on... pics coming by tomorrow.

thanks for reading my rant... maybe I'm just not feeling the jet ski thing any more :( rode last night... and maybe it was the cold water, or dirty ramp, but I'm... just meh...

I'm about 15 min south of Harrisburg, PA along 83

I have some fuel lines left from the last one you can also have.

If no one wants it, I'll part it out

MPEM, info center, engine, pipe, I'll keep the jet pump as a spare for my use.

seat, handle bar covers. etc. Big 'ol sale!

yip, i've been there, many times. PITA but i've gotten fairly good at it, shipping no longer is such a quandry.

I'm sitting on a ski with similar issues, i'll make more money if I take it apart but i'm not in the mood, but everybody that I know that wants it is used to paying 30cent on the dollar so I haven't found takers for 70cents.

I didn't get a chance for photos yet. By the time I got done mowing the yard and cleaning up I made a beeline for the shower. I'll set a reminder for today when I get home.

Pics or it didn't happen

Sorry! It was a holiday weekend... I was busy getting sunburned in places I didn't know I had...

I grabbed an exhaust manifold from my collection - included.
Battery - included
INFO center fires up. I didn't test all of it, but it did come alive.

You'll need carbs, oil lines, (oil filter won't hurt), I will include fuel lines shown - I don't know if it's enough

You'll need a bolt or two - they were so rusted they were trashed

The head could be cleaned up a bit - the head and short block are from my parts bin.

this is a perfectly rebuildable ski - I've just lost interest.

If anything, there's well over 1k in parts here...
It needs buffed up as well, gel cote is pretty easy. the red will come back with a buffer. that's where you'd fetch a higher sale price...

What do you need?

If I part it, I'm keeping the jet pump, and the 'good' engine core - the rusted/stuck one could be for sale -

MPEM
InfoCenter
Magneto
Stator
Carb Adapters
Oil Pump
Starter - rusty but works - I'd paint it
hood
mirrors (one is missing glass)
ride plate
driveshaft
Seats
Front bin
Rear Bin
ummm, that's all the high $ parts...

there the water box and rubber exhaust parts

the exhaust manifold - I don't need that, I have like 3 I think
The pipe and parts - I don't need (have 2 sets lol).
I don't like to part out something I believe can be put back on the water, but will...

$900 cash takes all, that's as low as I can go on it. No trailer or dolly included. Gloves can be added for $29.95

The engine short block that is included had about 1 and 1/2 seasons on it.
The other parts came to me w/this ski (magneto, oil pump, starter) all of which, look fine, but I haven't tested the oil pump. The short block that was rusted shut, I'm keeping since it has cases which I believe I can use for a core if needed in the future.

After a run one day, I noticed a head bolt missing. As far as I could tell it ran fine, however I knew I needed to fix the head bolt. Knowing that to get the head rods off you need to slant the motor over, means disconnecting 99% of what you need to remove, to just... remove the engine... Having a ready to run engine on stand by, I swapped that in my XP, and saved the engine for a rainy day. It was fogged with oil before placing it in my basement. The side walls look great. Piston tops look fine. The one area on the head could be cleaned up with a dremel.

After removal, I found the head nut had gone missing because the rod broke. To remove the rod, I removed the head, and just never had a place to put the assembled engine until this ski. It needs a head gasket, and the 2 exhaust manifold gaskets. I have the single pipe to manifold gasket included. You'll need carb gaskets + carbs.

if it was 50 degrees outside or snowing or I was mad at my wife, I'd be all about finishing this thing and hanging out in my shop for something to do. But it's summer, and I don't like clutter in my shop.

My name is not on the registration if you are looking to title this, check with your local regulations.

What do you need?

I have a 96 GTX and want the 6 black trim pieces (3 per side) from a newer GTX to add to mine. I just stopped by my local jet ski salvage yard and he said if I come back and pull them myself I could have them all for $50. Cant pass that up, but if something falls through I'll let you know.

So if you were going to fix it and sell it yourself . You would have to go to your dmv and apply for a salvaged title on it. Well you probably are better off parting it out nobody wants to buy a ski with a salvaged title unless it's cheep
