Primer idea Good or Bad?

My 96 GTX takes a while to start after it sits for a week or so. I had an Idea to add one of these primer bulbs to the fuel supply line to be able to get some fuel up to the carbs without all the cranking. Seems like it would save some wear and tear on the starter. Has anyone else ever tried something like this?

Do not run one of those. It will restrict the fuel flow.
If your ski is that hard to start you have a fuel system issue and it is loosing prime. It could be a small air leak.

The only primers that are safe to use are the kits that remove the choke butterflies and squirt fuel directly down the carb throats.

A small squirt bottle of pre-mix fuel works well after ski sits in an idle storage. Remove the rubber air-box plug to give a shot.
A glass fuel filter after the carbs, in the return line will help determine a fuel circulatory system leakage.
The carb pump sucks fuel from the tank baffel then pushes it back in, new fuel only weeps in after consumption.
Tighten any loose hose clamps. Periodically check the water separator filter cup for contaminates, its rubber seal, & not cross-threaded. Another check is to (after sits) open the gas cap, listen for the 3-5 lbs expel pressure relief. The two breath valves
control the fuel system pressure. Filling up with gas after riding will reduce the amount of air in the g-tank, from oxygenation.

Thanks guys. The restriction was my concern too. I guess it reall doesn't crank that much. I usually crank it for about 5 seconds, then give it a rest, then another 5 seconds. Usually starts up on the third try then it's fine after that until it sits for a while again. I'll recheck all of the connections too.
