Pre-mix ratio

Does anyone know the oil-gas ratio needes for a 93 XP? We are going to cut off the oil resovior and pre-mix the gas. I've heard that this is the right thing to do...is it? Thanks!

40/1 = 16oz to 5gal

50/1 = 16oz to 6gal.

40:1 is good... but you still have to leave the tank in the hull to feed oil to the rotary valve gears.

unless you are having issues with the oil injection system... I would leave it in.

Why not flush the oil system and use it? save spark plugs and fouling in the no-wake zone, pick a oil and stay with it, most oil problems are from mixing brands that make a gel which can be flushed with kerosene while you run premix gas, then once the oil is in and drinking just gas and go..
