hi guys,
im after some general post ride maintenance tips..
as this is my first ski.. i wanna do thing right to ensure its reliability.!
are there any websites that have this info.. or
can someone give me a basic list?

Welcome to the seadoo forum. This is a friendly place with lots of active members eager you help out and answer you questions. If you need any kind or advise for your seadoo, this is the place to be. It would be a big help if we knew what seadoo PWC or Jet Boat you have. 2 stroke, or 4-tec engine. What year also as they have changed over the years. Also do you ride in salt water or fresh water?

It would be a good thing to add your model and year to the avatar so we could answer future questions as well.

hey thanks for the help..
my ski is a 1996 gsx - 2 stroker.... and i ride in salt water...
will now add info to my personal info..

Hey, welcome to the forum, I own the same ski as you, what I do after I ride in salt water is flush the motor out when I get home on the hose, remember to start motor then turn water on then turn water off and then the motor off and run no longer than 5 min another option is to bring it to a local lake and run it for a few min if that is any easier. Also spray the engine down with WD-40 or any anti corrosion spray along with the transom, the jet nozzle and other parts. Then wash the ski with sop and water and if your feeling good give it a quick wax other than that you should be good.

thanks for the info... wat about fogging the engine after every ride.. is it ok to do this?? what should i use to fog it?? and if the engine is fogged, before riding the ski is it ok to start up out of the water untill all smoke has subsided?

ive come from a boating background and stiill cant wrap my head around the whole..
its ok to run the engine for short periods of time with water..

i agree with this one, this is what i do also after riding in salt water.

abelg,
what do you mean by fogging?

fogging: lubing the engine internals by spraying a lube in through the carbys while de-fueling... leaving a thin film of oil coating the inside of the engine..

You don't need to fog the engine except when you going to store if away for say winter of it isn't going to be used for several months. Fogging just coats the internals of the engine to prevent corrosion. You need new spark plugs when you start it up to run it again again as it usually fouls them.

alright, well it's not applicable to me since i ride almost every week or twice a month.i just spray wd-40 every time i finished washing and flushing my ski.
