Pop off pressure

98 sportster 1800....how important is the pop off when redoing a carb rebuild....?

Extremely. Too high... won't run, will go lean, and could burn up the engine. Too low, and it will flood.

If it's flooding... then the needle and seat could be leaking. Also... if you installed an aftermarket regulator diaphragm... they can cause leaks.

Right on both I believe....it was a Sbt carb kit....needle and seat are new also.... I just ordered the pop off gage...
