piston ring compressor

Is there another way to compress the piston rings other than using the 120.00 seadoo piston tool? another question I have is does it really matter if the bottom cylinder gasket is a little thicker than the one I am replacing?? going from 4mm to 6mm.. it came with the gasket kit I ordered. thx in advance

The gaskit kit should be ok...You could use a huge hose clamp for the rings...just be carefull of the fingers.
