ok here are the pics now i just need to know what they are called and how to fix them!!!!!any kind of info is appreciated, and this piece being broke now, would that make it take in water? i will try to put the pics in my profile take a look.

tshorty....You need a new carbon ring...parkeryamaha.com, babbitsonline.com, seadoosource.com. Also check that whole assy out, might be able to "lap" the carbon ring plate, if its not chewed up, but check out the o-rings, accordian boot, make sure you dont lose snap ring, behind the ring plate.
You'll have to, remove the pump housing to remove all that crap, or pull motor out, if you dont wanna reseal pump. Sometimes though, that pump is a B-ch, there is a way with 2x4's, and bolts/nuts, to rig up, for pulling pump.

Yep - carbon ring. Pulling the pump is easier.....ahem, relatively speaking.

The ring is pressed against the seat surface with a spring. This prevents water from entering at this important dynamic sealing point.

When the engine is stopped and you pull back the ring while in the water, you will take on water in the hull. So if that ring is broken, you will fill the hull with water rapidly......keep going and you also screw up the shaft.

The fact that it is broken may point to vibration from a bent shaft or worn bearings. So while it is in pieces check trueness of all parts carefully.
