Hey everyone. Just picked up my first pwc, a 2000 XP. Excited to get out on the water with it this weekend. Came with a Solas intake grate, K&N cone filters, new hydroturf, new seat cover, fitted cover and trailer.

It came with a few little things needing fixed, I'm hoping to get some insight into repairing them from the forums. Replacing the throttle cable as this one started to fray and bind in the sleeve, and trying to get the gauges working. The previous owner told me he had the gauge cluster out to paint a trim piece and had possibly plugged the wires back in wrong. Fuel gauge seems to have power, moves a little when I plug the key in but not much. Speedo and rpm gauge aren't working at all tho.

He had also mentioned he has not done any rebuild on it, checked compression on both cylinders which read around 120psi. Couldn't really find any concrete numbers to tell me that was stock or in good health I guess.

Originally the compression was 135 per cylinder. 120 is getting down there but it should run. Someone has been into the top end at least because you can see the cylinder block has been painted.

Your engine pic does not show the carbs but there is a Novi sticker on the rear hatch lid. Hopefully you have Novi carbs because they are the best and worth good money.

Looking at the carbs it appears to be Mikuni carbs. Guess I'll be redoing the top end this winter. Any ideas where to find a wiring diagram for the gauge cluster?
