Overheating and clearing or flushing cooling lines

Glad it's fixed. But honestly, all the stuff your mechanic put on......you should ask for your money back. August 13 2x2smoke and myself told you you need to check/pull the pump. That was before he replaced all the parts I think. You could have just ran a drill bit thru the holes by hand to open them back up. These boats are not expensive to fix, you just need to trouble shoot a little more in depth. I know it sounds like I'm chastising you, I'm not, I just hate to see guys waste money. Nothing worse than reading about guys just throwing parts and money at a problem until they find something that sticks. It's just frustration is all, in the end, I'm glad your fixed and back on the water, now go enjoy the boat!

I believe the mechanic told me the order of the work was logical working backwards from the valve covers to clear the jugs of sand, finding blockages in the fittings and then the clogged holes on the pump

I guess what you're saying is I didn't need to replace gaskets, tuned pipes, exhaust manifold, or the Jet assembly to fix this?

He said that the jet holes were not repairable and if I was replacing the wear ring, that the impeller should be done at the same time, and that as he already had a jet ready to go "brand new" with a solas impeller and new ring and cone that it was better assurances to just replace the whole thing.

Ask 10 guys and you'll get 10 different answers, LOL. If the water flowed out the pisser on the garden hose but not the pump when in the water............first place I'm going is the pump, that is the source of water flow and then working my way thru the direction of flow. We all think a little differently is all. Plus, pulling the pump is very easy compared to the rest of the work. I was a service tech for over 20 years and I remember superiors telling me when I started in my career, start easy and work to the hard stuff. 9.5 times out of 10, it was the easy stuff that was what caused the problems. Like I said, the important part is you're back on the water!
 
I know there are two sides of every transaction so I was sort of hesitant in my remarks regarding your mechanic. If you really want to see this thing to the end, lets see pictures of the damaged jet pump and the other parts that your mechanic had to replace.

If you read this thread from start to finish, its pretty clear what went on here but maybe its not worth the brain damage involved to keep picking at this wound.
