Well last night we went to local lake for fireworks. On the way back in the launch was packed we sat idle for a for 10-15 minutes. Looks like the wind blew all the weeds that direction

Long story short in line to dock and I'm next the temp light pops on and I get the continous beep....Then a few minutes later both check engine lights pop on. I'm in neutral for maybe five minutes waiting for the boat in from to finish loading. Was in this condition for about five minutes.

First, checked the boat this morning and no lights on. I hope there wasn't any long term issues getting it that hot and not shutting it off. Got it on the trailer and sure enough the grates were packed with weeds. (That is what I had suspected to casue the overheat) . Cleaned both immediately. Get the normal two beeps with the DESS key inserted

Did a visual and it looks like the waterboxes heated up well beyond normal. Had some smoke in the engine compartment from the coating bubbling up on each one. Anything I need to do or any issues you can think of. Recoat / reseal or leave well enough alone.

Any tips or ideas if I've created a bigger problem would be helpful. I'll try to get it out again tomorrow and I'll know for sure.
