Being constructive
I added to, as best possible. Truth is, most UK folks probably know someone with fiberglass skills. I know it sounds crazy, but it seems every cool, outlandish project, I've ever seen, has a how to with a bloak in his garage holding nothing more than a hacksaw and a bit of aluminium.
If you just really love your seadoo hull, and have no way of getting parts to the UK through
www.shopsbt.com, then you need to come out and say that first, in your own new thread lol. Some folks see that this thread is old, and automagically assume it is another dreamer that will never do it.
Do outboards have advantages? Yes, in almost every category except draft, weight, complexity, and fun. Would I ever give up my jets? No.
A 70hp outboard has about the equivalent thrust of a 110hp jet. You loose about 30% to the pump. I'm sure newer designs are more efficient these days. Outboards also burn about half the fuel.

Bad comparison because they chose not so sporty outboard hulls, but you can look get the idea with the GPH numbers and the size of the fuel tanks lol.
David, you already have the expensive part, a 150HP four stroke. If they are rare there, part the boat out and make some money. Then use the funds to buy a nice 1998ish or newer hull for your outboard.
Clearing the swim platform on your boat would require an aluminium transom mount/extension. That would probably make your boat prone to proposing through. This is a nice read.
http://www.marineenginedigest.com/specialreports/transombrackets.htm I would imagine if you went through all that trouble, you could fab a plate to fit over the length of the jet intake, then maybe glass over it, sand until your itchy, and gel coat the whole mess.

That is probably the most constructive advice you are going to get here. Most guys on this forum, love their boats because they are jet driven, with the fact that they are Seadoos/Bombardier coming in a close second. Maybe if you were using an Evenrude e-tech instead of a yamaha lol.
If you are serious, and the mods don't shut this zombie thread down, I'll be happy to talk to you the whole way through. I highly doubt you are going to find another member on here who has converted their boat, so that kind of support is not going to be available.
To get a better Idea of what you are up against, look at these pics.

I still think you should read up on transom brackets, and go from there if you are serious.
