Orlando Area Lakes

I was wondering if anyone knew any good lakes in the greater Orlando area. Preferably one with a beach area.

I'd be interested in finding out too, maybe I'll trailer mine over there someday to check it out.

The easiest lake to get to and have a good choice of riding is Lake Monroe north of Orlando. There are 3 good ramp areas. One is downtown Sanford and two right off I-4 at the Seminole/Volusia county line on the St. Johns River. Some of the other Lakes are not as easy to access and really have no beaching area do to being private land. Lake Monroe has no speed limit until you reach the north end going into the St. Johns River however, there are some beaching areas along it north of the lake. If you head south on the St. Johns river and once you reach the uncharted area there is no speed limit and it it a great ride, with more beaching areas. Only a couple very short idle zones.

yeah lake monroe is cool, just stay away from lake jesup theyre connected by st johns. its a pretty far trip south on st johns for a ski. lake jesup is where alligators are relocated and i would hate to be stuck out there miles from my boat ramp. the winter park chain of lakes is pretty cool it has a neat island on lake maitland that you can beach at. the only thing that sucks is that you have to get a pass to use those lakes, its like 7 bucks for a day.
