Opinion 787 counterballance bearings

The 787 counterballance has one open bearing and one sealed bearing.
Why not replace the open bearing with a sealed bearing ?
I'm thinking of water ingestion and the area not being cleaned out in time which would result in a damaged bearing or case if it fails completely. Also thinking of the 96 case that doesn't allow you to drain and refill.

Thoughts?

I thought about it on my 96. You'll never wear that sealed bearing out but neither will you ever wear out the bearing you are installing. LOL Bearing type and cage material I think are more important in this application. I wonder if the standard bearings us a bronze or non-metal cage? Just thinking as I type.

What kinda price are you gonna get on a sealed bearing? I'd think they cost a lot more than the standard.
