Looking for some ideas for on-board battery chargers/ maintainer. Something I can plug in the day before a trip. Preferably a 2 bank system for 2 battery’s. I’ve seen a couple out there. Looking for ideas of where you put them. Also looking for a quick connect. Something like a female outlet near the battery switch, so all I have to do is open the hatch, plug it in and walk away. I have a couple ideas myself so if no-one posts anything I will post up a log on what I did, after I do it of course. Cheers!

Personally, I don't like them. Over the years, I've seen them fail, and in turn... they drain the battery while sitting, and then kill it. (Acid batteries do not like to sit at 0 volts) The only time I recommend them, is if you leave the boat in the water, and it's plugged to shore power all the time.

On a speedster it's not hard to lift the deck lid, and hook up a charger on the trailer.

Just my 2 cents.

I’m just about to replace both batteries with deep cycle marine batteries. Some jackass put regular batteries in. I get that it works but I’d rather have my deep cycle. In turn I wanted to add something that would help me when plugging it in.
