OK guys...Im gonna let you in on a new plastic restoring trick!!!

I havent been on here much just too busy so if someone already posted it I apologize.


Get out a $20bill and go to any place that sells "as seen on TV" items....Target, Walmart, etc.

And pick up the ridiculously small bottle of WIPE NEW!!


I dont have time to post pix and stuff, but Ive been using it and it is TRUELY amazing stuff. If you have a really bad hood do my old trick with the softscrub and scotchbrite, then use the Wipe new.

Worth every penny and as the ad says...it goes a long way.

Oh and if your into huffing stuff it will get you high as a kite too...lol

It was ridiculous....I will never do it again but it was amazing. Everything went smooth, zero car or trailer issues thanks to making sure everything was up to snuff. Used a ridiculous amount of gas.

I use turtle wax trim restorer..I think it the same thing but it cost 7.99 at autozone. Used it with good results.

I have been wondering what to do with this hood all winter, I didnt want to get into painting it. This seemed to do the trick, I used less then 1/2 oz to do the hood and handlebar pad. If the shine holds up its the best stuff I have ever used, the fumes and smell are just a bonus. Thanks for posting Nick, I am always Leary using "as seen on TV" gimmicky stuff.

Now take Lacquer thinner to your rub rails on a paper towel and it will melt those ugly white marks out of them. Then I guess go back and hit it with the As seen on TV sauce.

You crack me up, another day, another giggle by racerx. Ya I am not happy with the rub rails, I wet sanded and hit them with heavy cut, then put a polish on them but getting the polish residue out of the deeper cracks is a bitch.

Does anyone know how this stuff looks after a year or so? I bought something similar for fibreglass boats about 10 years ago at a boat show, it had about the same results on a chalky fibreglass deck but after a couple years it started to turn yellow and you couldnt buff it back. Reapplying the same stuff just made the yellow more shiny.

I dont like that armorall, your right, it does not last at all and to be honest it wears down the plastic sheen faster then if you did nothing. I did this back in 04 with my yukon. I used armorall on the driver side running boards and black mirror trim once in a while through the time I owned it (6 years) and never applied it to the passenger side. After 6 yrs without armorall the passenger side had less fade then the drivers side.

Don't use armor all on anything. Cars, boats, trucks, etc....never. That stuff is terrible. Full of silicone.

When you see discolored/rotten seat covers....you can blame it on armorall. Throw that chit away.

I clean my rub rails with body prep then sprayed them with headlight restore UV spray and they look permantly armor alled. Did my GSI 2 years ago and it still shines like new. Thats my trick
