Oil shooting out of Sparkplug hole

Yes, I am new here. Looking to get some answers. So I purchased a couple doo's and one of them is a 95 xp. My friend that I bought it from, said that one day when riding it that it make a click and just stoped running. So he had an auto mechanic look at it. So come to find out, and since i have purchased it, when try to start without the sparkplugs in it would turn over and shoot oil out of sparkplug holes. I shoot it all out, let sit for couple of days and again full of oil. Im thinking it must be like a crank seal. But not sure. If I could get someones suggestion would be nice. Thanks.

with the amount of oil pouring back into the journal area, you wont be able to clear it out, and ride the ski. You'll need to tear it down, and install a new crank assy or replace entire motor w/ reman one.

do you wanna save the pistons? Get ALL the oil out, then do compression, but if you want it to be "right", get a complete motor assy/reman motor....SBT, FULLBORE..etc

i had a few of those motors that shot oil out about 15 feet in the air scared the crap out of me the first time it completely soaked me.. LOL..

what i did was pull the rv cover off becareful of the rv plate make sure it stays on put a ziptie on the rotory shaft to make sure the plate dont come off..

by removing the cover that will allow alot of the oil to come out also hit the button a few times and try to get more out then replace everything and start it up it will smoke like crazy..

i had to fire it up once a week and let it run for a minute and everything was fine but if i let it sit for more than a week it would load up with to much oil and would hydro lock...

well put a cut off on the large oil line or

make shift pair of needle nose vise grips for when you shut the boat off.

are you sure the return line hasn't been pinched off??

i'd go with the cut off/vise grips on the oil line until the motor finially lets loose.

There's also the possibilty that there is nothing wrong with the crankshaft or its seals and the problem is being caused by a defective rotary valve shaft seal or a bent rotary valve shaft.

Thank you very much for the response. Now, is there any easy way of checking to see if ratary vavle shaft seal is bad or bent with out physicaly takeing it apart? Also, when the problem started, it was a friend that was rideing my second doo and when on the lake it just make a fast and loud click sorta sound and shut off. Whould that possibly mean any thing with that shaft maybe got bent.

Making a "loud click" then shutting off and now you got oil coming out the spark plug holes? Sounds like you've got major engine damage. Reman engine time. (as previously posted)

What you want to do next is read here about crankshafts and see the photo story from snipe about his 787 - the crank is very similar to what you have, the suspect seals are in the central area of the crank - once you see the exploded view of the crankshaft you will know that when you go in this deep the repair bill will climb...

get off the wallet and get a reman...
