Hey guys I have a 1996 Seadoo spx 717. I was wondering if there was a way I could check and see if my oil pump is working correctly. It does use oil from the tank and it does smoke. And I haven't had any problems but I'm just worried about it starving for oil. Is it better to block it off and run premix? Also can someone tell me the stock adjustments for my carburetors. I am currently rebuilding them.

The procedure for bench testing the pump is in the service manual. Its not very hard but it will take you a minute to do it all.

It'll take you a minute to get it off and "to" the bench. These things could really use a trap door or twelve so one can get to nuts and bolts.

Carb. adjustments, low speed = 1-1/4 turns out.
high speed= 0 turns out.

NOPE!!! Keep the oil injection system, very reliable, the only reason they fail is from lack of maintenance. Change the oil filter every other year, if you still have the original oil injection lines change them to 3/32" tygon lines.
